Tours
Achnacarry Estate is home to an abundance of wildlife including several hundred red deer.
Wildlife tours will get you close to wild deer and you may see birds of prey, game birds, water fowl, Highland cattle, Pine Martins and many other wild animals.
Tours are in small groups of up to 6 people in 4x4 vehicles which are in radio contact with other vehicles, so that more wildlife can be spotted.
If you want to get an even closer look, you can go on a camera stalking tour where you will be taken up the hill in an Argo, walk to find some deer, then stalk to close range for the perfect photograph.
Stag Feeding Tours
- Tours run from December to February
- You will be picked up, and returned to The Clan Cameron Museum (PH34 4EJ).
- Tours are for up to 3 hours, starting at 10:00 and returning around lunch time.
- Great opportunity to get close-up photos of wild stags
Wildlife, Scenic, Photographic and Hill Walking Tour Details
- Tours run from March to July, but off-season tours can be arranged by special appointment.
- You will be picked up, and returned to The Clan Cameron Museum (PH34 4EJ).
- Half day tours are for up to 3 hours, starting at 10:00 and returning around lunch time.
- Full day tours are for up to 6 hours, starting at 10:00 and returning late afternoon.
- Two Toyota 4x4 vehicles and 8x8 Agro (full day only) used.
- Maximum 3 adults per vehicle, although it’s possible for 2 adults and 2 children per vehicle. Child booster seats are available, but if required, please provide advance notice.
- Binoculars can be borrowed (free of charge) to enhance chances of spotting wildlife. Also a spotting telescope will be set up where appropriate.
What to bring
- Waterproof\windproof clothing, sun cream and sturdy footwear.
- Packed lunch, snacks and a flask.
- Cameras, camcorders and lenses, preferably in padded bags.
